407ETR becomes first Canada Blind Soccer sponsor

June 21st 2023: It is with great excitement that Soccability Canada can announce that 407 ETR have become the first ever sponsor for Canada Blind Soccer. Canada Blind Soccer is an initiative of Soccability Canada and focused on the development of blind soccer at all levels of the game.

The program sponsorship was an initiative of Kidspired, a grassroots sport marketing company. 407 ETR stated:

“We’re proud to support the Pickering FC and North Mississauga Soccer Club’s Blind Soccer Program, and their incredible efforts to make soccer more inclusive. As a company built on technological innovation, we applaud the advancements and adaptations made to enable participants to safely enjoy the sport.”

Funds will go directly to supporting initiatives that assist in the growth of blind soccer including our September training camp and developing media content to raise further awareness. 407ETR wanted the sponsorship to be meaningful and personal to the players and so, purchased an audible ball for each visually impaired player enabling them to train at home. Soccability Canada for our part will;

  1. Provide each player with a branded training t-shirt.
  2. Purchase of a pitch side banner to acknowledge 407ETR support for blind soccer.

To kick-off this new sponsorship deal the Pickering, Ottawa and Mississauga players held a joint training session at the Pickering Soccer Centre on June 3rd. ON completion of the session every player received their personal audible ball with the day serving as a great way to connect players outside of the competition when they would usually meet.

Three male blind soccer players are led by a female guide onto the field. A pile of audible balls sits on the turf in front of them.
